Magnificent Garden Villa |
Villa Orchidea is a wonderful holiday villa surrounded by a garden full with flowers and olive trees and it has a large swimming pool of 5 by 10 meters.
The villa is an ideal starting point for discovering the Val di Chiana valley and its lovely villages.
It was converted from being a traditional farmhouse, to a magnificent villa keeping the typical Tuscan characteristics and equipped with all the modern comforts. The owners were inspired by the natural and beauty of the surrounding area and during the restoration have tried to preserve its traditional charm by reusing the existing old materials on site like the beautiful antique “cotto” tiles. Walls have been painted with water colours for a fresh and light interior.
The furniture is a mixture of antique and modern pieces. |

On the ground floor you will find the living room painted in a bright Etruscan-red with in the middle a beautiful stone fireplace dated 1800. There is also a double sofa bed. From this area you can access a lovely reading room and a bathroom.
The kitchen is very rustic in a typical Tuscan-style; there is a stove with five burners, microwaves, dishwasher, oven, fridge and freezer. The tiles are all handmade and painted, reflecting Cortona’s style.
Through a beautiful stone staircase, you access the first floor passing through a little library full of books in Italian, English and French. A glass door separates the night area that is composed of: a double bedroom with window overlooking the swimming pool and the forest, one twin bedroom and one bathroom with shower.
Outside there is a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy relaxing moments. Only a few steps from the main building, in the middle of the beautiful garden there is a little cottage with a little living area, a double bedroom and a bathroom.
There is also a little wooden house where you will find the laundry and ironing room. |

Tuscany is known for its beautiful landscapes, its rich artistic legacy and vast influence on high culture.
Tuscany is widely regarded as the true birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and has been home to some of the most influential people in history, such as Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Amerigo Vespucci and Puccini. Due to this, the region has several museums, most of which (such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace) are found in Florence, but others in towns and smaller villages.
Tuscany has a unique culinary tradition, and is famous for its wines (most famous of which are Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino). |
