Tradionally restored Tuscan Villa |
Villa Vicchio is immersed in the green valley of the Mugello, a territory rich in art and history, the area where the Medici family traces its origins.
Located on the southern slopes of the Apennines, the property extends from an area at about 350 meters above sea level to arrive at about 600 meters above sea level in the higher areas of the property.
This height difference provides an incredible panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The estate spreads out over 230 hectares with cultivated fields of grain and wheat, oak chestnuts, grazing fields and woods. |

Surrounding |

Of particular interest is the 13th century Castle del Trebbio, the Cafaggiolo Castle, the San Piero fortress, and the Scarperia castle. In addition, it is interesting to visit Romanesque country parishes, the Montesenario Convent, the Abbey at Vallombrosa, the town of Marradi, and the Fortress of Firenzuola.
The Chianti Rufina wine road begins a few kilometers away from the villa. The wine road takes visitors to prestigious wine producers in the area (such as the Marchesi Frescobaldi vineyards and Fattoria di Selvapiana and many more) where you can taste the scents and fragrances of the various types of wine.
Each municipality has its own town festival, sometimes even the smaller towns have their own, each with its own theme. The “Infiorata di Scarperia” celebrates the arrival of Spring while Borgo San Lorenzo and Vicchio hold livestock fairs, with public auctions of the animals. |
