The places to visit in Le Marche are numerous and all steeped in history with their own culture and tradition. Villa Isabella is only a few kilometres from the Sibellini Mountains and less than an hour drive will take you to the coast of the Riviera Del Conero. There are many events and Festas that mirror the rich tapestry of the region. Some notable places to visit are, The Caves of Phrases, Dell'Infernaccio Gorge, Lake Pilato and the border with Umbria flanked by the Plain of Castelluccio with the wonderful Flowering of The Lentil in May.
Art lovers and admirers of religious sites should visit The Shrine of The Holy House of Loreto and The Shrine of St Nicholas of Tolentino.
For sport and fitness lovers there is the ice rink at Ussita and in winter some easy skiing in the Sibillini. In summer the Sibillini offers great walking and mountain biking or horse riding.
If you are a painter you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to subjects to paint or sketch. Near to the Villa is the Archaeological park with its forum, the nature reserve of The Abbadia Fiastra plus the architectural jewels of the Castle of Pallottta Calderola, The Castle of Rancia Tolentino, The Castle of San Leo and last but not least the Castle Of Gradara.
Events to try to see are The Cheese Market of Italy in Gualdo, held the 3rd weekend of May, The Race of The Sword in Camerino, 3rd and 4th weekend in May, The Palio of San Ginesio, 15th August and The Palio del Serafino Sarnano the 2nd Sunday of August.
For shopaholics, Macerata, Tolentino and San Benedetto all offer stylish shops like only th Italians do plus the local village markets are great places to pick up a bargain.
The manager of the villa, Isabella, can arrange excursions or itineraries to suit most tastes if you wish. Food and wine lovers will not be disappointed, there are so many great restaurants and agrituristico plus two fantastic wineries at Il Pollenza and Il Mulino. The family run restaurants are simple with just what Mamma has cooked on offer but what an offer "BUONISSIMO" and there is nothing better than sitting outside a family restaurant in the evening sun surrounded by fun loving Italians eating fabulous pasta, melting meat and the local chilled wine, white and "red" yes chilled it tastes great!
