Villa Campo Largo

Restored Monastery

sleeps: 8

Originally a summer residence for monks during the harvests in the 18th century, Villa Campo Largo is a tranquil spot for a peaceful holiday in summer or winter. It is surrounded by fields, olives and walnut trees in a peaceful valley with a lovely view of the hill town of Loro Piceno.

Villa Campo Largo has been extensively and tastefully restored to retain the original beamed ceilings and features including six huge arches facing the valley and forming a loggia on the first floor. There are terracotta tile floors throughout, a modern hand-made maple kitchen and three modern bathrooms with stylish furnishings. Modern features include under-floor heating, a wood burning stove and double glazed windows.

Spacious and airy house sleeping eight in four double bedrooms, one with two single beds, & three bathrooms.

The old Roman city of Loro Piceno is less than 3km distance from Villa Campo Largo.

Loro Piceno is an historic town. Home to numerous cultural and gastronomic festivals, it’s famous for Vino Cotto, a special wine that’s “cooked” to reach its peak of flavor and is drunk after dinner. Plus, you’re in the “Golden Triangle” of Le Marche that puts you in the middle of it all – 30 minutes to the beach and the same to hiking and skiing in the majestic Sibillini Mountains.

Loro Piceno boasts two of the region’s best restaurants, one of which is listed in the Michelin Guide. Market days and local festas abound in the town and nearby villages, with a good choice of shopping and café’s in town.
