Casa Zazza

Beautiful Farmhouse from 1800

sleeps: 8

Casa Zazza is a traditional Marchigiana farmhouse, with origins in the early 1800’s. It has been lovingly restored according to the old building traditions. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have pleasant, uninterrupted views. Several look on to majestic Mount Sibillini.

Casa Zazza is situated in the Valle di Chienti near the village of Gualdo. It is reached by a little used country lane (strada bianca). On arrival, one finds oneself surrounded by farmland -cultivated with sunflower or wheat-, meadows with flocks of sheep and in the midst of wonderful views.

The surrounding area is on the outskirts of the beautiful and unspoiled Sibillini National park. The whole area is protected which means ample bird life and an abundance of flowers. It is not unusual to see orchids growing at the side of the road...

ADSL (broadband) available.

Places of great historical interest can be reached within half an hour's driving:

Sarnano, a perfectly restored little town that sits on a hill and is built in a spiral fashion around it. Amandola, a town noted for its antique tradition of ebony furniture and marquetry artistry. Caldarola, with its castles and Serrapetrona famous for its elliptic square, its palaces and mansions and its summer festivals. Then there is Camerino, the ducal city of antique magnificence.

The Roman ruins of the antique town of Urbisaglia are worth visiting along the road to Macerata. They include a magnificent amphitheatre, which, during the summer months, stages a Greco-Roman theatre festival. Visiting Macerata could satisfy an interest in the melodramatic opera. The Sferisterio can be found there, the second Italian arena after Verona. The works of great artists are put on display every year, drawing attention from all over Europe.

Near the Conero National Park coastline is Recanati, where Giacomo Leopardi was born and only one hour in car from the farmhouse you can find the great beaches of the Adriatic Coast like at Porto San Giorgo Sirola.
